Like Earth's water systems, Elsewhere is a closed system. Filled with toys, textiles, oddities and artifacts, each room contains a new imaginary land. Although each room's installation is ever-changing, the items and "things" contained in each space are constant. Nothing leaves the three-story space. Ever.
As my eyes quickly ran across each item, it felt a bit like sensory overload. I felt delighted then confused, nostalgic then indifferent. A roller coaster of responses and impulses ran through my being. WIthout the "things" enclosed in this space, the system wouldn't work. Without them, each room would be stripped of its character, left naked and exposed.
The things contained in Elsewhere are reminiscent of what water is to our system//society. Without each of these factors, these systems wouldn't even exist. Elsewhere would just be an empty space with no energy. WIthout water, the world would be a physically and theoretically dry space. WIthout water, there is no life. Since water is the closed system that it is
