sky: tones of peach, blush and powder blue
air: temperature quickly dipped as the sun was setting
ground: damp, muddy, vegetation peeking through patches of snow, soil appears to be rich, saturated with water, deep in color

During my walk through the Guilford woods, I experimented with an iPhone macro lens. This lens allowed me to zoom in on small details around me, such as tiny fragments of bark, moss and soaked wood. I found it pretty hard to keep a steady hand, but it helped to lean on the ground or a tree in order to hold my camera steady. With a camera I am able to use a tripod or set the camera down on a firm surface, but as phones are meant to be handheld, it's more difficult to capture a perfect, fully focused shot. Although the shots I took (above) were not perfectly still as I had hoped, I got some cool distortion on the edges of a few. A few actually appear to have the effect of a selective focus. If I'm able to use this in my favor and push this distortion, I think I might have something here.
Next week I'll try out the other lenses in the iPhone sense kit- fisheye and wide angle.
